4) Why Choose Murren
When it comes to the Jungfrau region, there are several different options to choose from. While Murren is one great choice, other options include Wengen, Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, and Interlaken.

The Scenery
When it comes to surrounding scenery and landscape, it is tough to beat what Murren has to offer. Since the town is perched on the top of the Lauterbrunnen Valley walls, you will be welcomed to some jaw dropping panoramas all throughout town.
In addition to the views of the valley down below, you will also have views of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau mountains towering out in the distance.
Hiking Opportunities
Right outside your doorstep, you will have plenty of hiking opportunities in Murren. Whether it is the easy Murren to Gimmelwald trail, or the tougher hike up to Schilthorn, there are many of options for all types of hikers.
Activities
In addition to just hiking, there are other activities to take part of in Murren. You can easily take the cable cars up to Schilthorn to get some of the best views in the Jungfrau region, take part of the Murren Via Ferrata, or enjoy a paragliding experience over the valley down below (among many others!).
5) How to Get to Murren
I will mention that one of the downsides to staying in Murren is that it is one of the tougher places to get to.
However, this is what also makes it so relaxing. You won’t find cars, taxis, and busses roaming the streets. Instead, you will find a peaceful vehicle free village to enjoy.
There are two main ways to get yourself to Murren from the nearest main hub of Interlaken:
Option 1
- Train from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen
- Cable Car from Lauterbrunnen to Grutschalp
- Mountain Train from Grutschalp to Murren
Option 2
- Train from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen
- Bus from Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg
- 2 Cable Cars from Stechelberg to Murren (switch in Gimmelwald)
